1st Birthday!

Gavin and Ryan celebrated their first birthday with a big party at our house.

If you buy a first-birthday cake at Publix, they give you a free baby-sized, smashable cake (one per baby). How cool!

Melissa took the boys to get 1st Birthday pictures taken professionally... we haven't scanned them in yet, but here is a preview!

Mama and Daddy (and PawPaw, and many others) built the boys their own playroom. Melissa did a great job decorating with lots of educational wall art from a daycare.

When the guests arrived, the new playroom was baby-inspected and mother-approved.

Mary and Molly, one of the sets of twins from the local Parents of Twins groups, even came by to give the boys driving lessons.

A Crowd Gathers

News of the '1st Annual Cake Eating Contest' quickly spread, and fans gathered on the lawn to spectate

And in this corner, weighing in at around 24 pounds, Gavin "The Cake-inator", pumps up the crowd!

His challenger, in the white Pampers, Ryan "Chunky Monkey" Windle, warms up his chewing muscles.

The contest is about to begin, with Referees Mama and Dada presiding.

The challenge is declared a tie, while Gavin tries to get in a final bite.

After the guests left, Mimi gaves the boys a much-needed bath.
